The police are quickly alerted to the escape, and they launch a massive manhunt. However, Carter and the other prisoners are able to evade capture. They eventually make their way to a safe house, where they plan their next move. The police eventually track Carter and the other prisoners down to the safe house. A shootout ensues, and several police officers and prisoners are killed. In the end, Carter and the other prisoners are captured and returned to prison.
